Get up and shake the glitter off your clothes now.

I love this time of year.

I am not rolling around in dollars, I’ll tell you that much.  If I were to have enough of any sort of money to actually roll in, I’d have to change all my dollars into pennies, and I bet they wouldn’t even come above my hips in a bathtub.  There will be no diving into my piles of wealth à la Scrooge McDuck from Duck Tales, is what I’m telling you.

So when Cara and I first started talking during one of our long runs about going on a trip to Vegas together, I realllly wanted to go, but I didn’t think it’d be possible.  But THEN!  Through a random series of unrelated opportunities, I was able to procure enough money to feel like going could maybe be a possibility.  Then we found a great hotel that didn’t make us feel like we’d be sacrificing the safety and security of our physical bodies during our stay, and it was going for an extremely low price!  We decided to bring a lot of our own food to cut down expenditures (and who really wants to eat out every meal for three days??), and suddenly, our trip was actually going to happen.

Plus, it was fall break for my school, so I didn’t even miss any classes.  WINNING.

Our view through a dirty window.

If we look like we are trying not to laugh because the guy that was taking our picture was really weird and kept cracking terrible jokes, it’s because the guy that was taking our picture was REALLY weird and kept cracking terrible jokes.

We went to see Footloose.  It was late(ish) and we were tired, so it ended up being one of the most hysterical movies of my life.  I laughed so hard, I cried at one point (at a part that wasn’t supposed to be funny).  It was pretty great.

It was also a great learning opportunity.  I came out with some fantastic new dancing moves, as evidenced.  The next time I go dancing (ha), people are going to be very impressed!

The next day dawned, so we spent it doing really difficult things.  Like, laying by the pool, reading magazines, and drinking diet coke.

It’s not really like I normally wear fancy shoes to the pool, but I hadn’t realized that I’d thrown my flip flops under my bed at this point.  At least these ones matched?

We stopped in the M&M store to pick a treat up for Olivia.  One that would ultimately be ruined by ice sneaking into it and melting while it sat in the cooler.  :/  (I am not much into expression faces while typing, but doesn’t that one have so much personality?)  Sorry you got the beige/black/white/boring portion of the wall, there were so many people milling about that a full picture of its magnificence was impossible.

That evening, we shopped a little, but mostly exclaimed in shock at $400 skirts and stuff like that because that’s always fun, then found some nourishment provided by Max Brenner.

Apparently that’s what he looks like.  We had a tasty meal and then that decadent dessert in the top corner.  It’s a sugar waffle with caramelized bananas, crunchy rice crispies, ice cream, those little chocolate ball things, and chocolate sauce.  It was pretty fantastic and I’m sure it’s….. I’m sorry, what was I saying?  I got distracted by that picture of deliciousness.

And then we came home.

And I was pretty happy to see this face again:

Special thanks to Isaac and Michelle for making my trip possible.

And to our iphones for taking all the pictures because my real camera keeps complaining that its SD card needs to be reformatted, and I’m like, “No, I’m not doing that because you have valuable things I want off of there before everything gets deleted by reformatting, so I’ll make Isaac fix you at some point.”  So: crappy quality pictures.  Sorry.

The end.

Love this post, loved this trip, love you! And that face in the very last photo.
*I am a little disappointed you left out the part about the man asking if you were afraid of his brown sugar... or was it his chocolate?...

Girls trips are the BEST! I am happy to hear you were able to make it possible & that you two had such a great time. Can I mention how skinny you both look? Because you both are ridiculously skinny (in the cute way, not the gross way). Must be all the runnin'.

LOVE YOU!
